Satellite meeting of UK Rice Research Consortium annual conference

Aberdeen agreed to host the 2021 annual meeting of the UK Rice Research Consortium (http://ukrrc.org/) on 10-11th November. Together with the national organising committee, we decided to theme the meeting on Rice and Climate Change and scheduled it to run concurrently with COP26. We had two main science sessions, one on Nutrient Use Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Emission, the other on Genetics and Genes for Adaptation to Climate Change. In the first session we brought together experts from the UK to form a consortium to prepare a grant proposal on Alternative Wetting and Drying, an area of active research for the applicants which requires better integration to the national and international research network.
