Attend Aberdeen Open Day - from anywhere

Prospective postgraduate students from around the world are invited to the University of Aberdeen's upcoming open day, and they won't even have to leave their own home to attend.

Later this month, for the first time, the University will host a ‘Virtual Open Day’ giving ‘visitors’ the opportunity to engage with academics, current students and support staff from across the University.

The event will take place entirely online, over two sessions on Thursday, February 28.

Attendees will be invited to enter virtual booths to interact with staff via live chat, which will allow them to find out more about specific programmes of study, the University and life in Aberdeen.

Representatives from every school across the University will take part, as well as staff from other areas such as Accommodation, the Careers Service and the Student Experience Team.

Both sessions will feature a panel of students who will discuss their experience of postgraduate study at the University, and participants will also be able to view a filmed campus tour of both Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill.

Professor Alan Speight, Vice-Principal (Student Recruitment) at the University, said: “We are extremely proud of the diversity of our student body but recognise that the on campus open day may not be suitable for many of our postgraduate students, particularly those from overseas. This event extends the opportunity to attend an open day to students from all over the world, and means that everyone can get a taste of life at the University of Aberdeen.”
