Kings College Chapel is an ancient and beautiful building located at the centre of the University of Aberdeen and suitable for a range of different events including special services and concerts. The chapel has a capacity for 200 maximum within the main chapel but can accommodate more if seats are placed within the antechapel.

Please note that the University of Aberdeen reserves the right to carry out works of maintenance, repair, and renewal to the exterior and interior fabric of King’s College and King’s College Chapel including, without prejudice to the foregoing generality, the erection of scaffolding and protective covers without prior notification being given.
Guidelines for Use of King’s College Chapel
Principally the Chapel is a place of worship. Individuals are welcome to enter for private prayer or contemplation whenever the Chapel is free. There is Quiet Time between 1pm and 2pm Monday to Friday and no bookings can be made for this time. All bookings at the Chapel are at the discretion of the University Chaplain and should be appropriate to the Chapel’s nature and purpose. The following guidelines must be adhered to:
- No one is permitted to use the Chapel unless an official booking has been made through the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Office. This applies to all worship services, performances, practice sessions, tours, wedding rehearsals, deliveries of instruments or flowers, or setting up for an event.
- You must adhere to your time allocation in order not to delay or frustrate other users.
- If your booking is outside the opening hours of Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm please contact Security (Tel: 01224 273327) before you vacate the building. You may also need to contact them to open the Chapel.
- Under no circumstances is the Communion Table to be moved.
- No furniture can be moved unless previously arranged (see booking request form).
- No items are to be fixed to the walls, doors or woodwork of the building.
- Hymn books and Bibles may not, under any circumstances, be removed from the Chapel.
- No refreshments may be served or consumed in the Chapel or Antechapel.
- If AV is required this must be arranged at the time of booking (see booking request form).
- Candles and incense are not permitted unless with prior consent.
- You will be asked to complete a risk assessment and this must be approved before your event. If you have an external speaker the appropriate form must also be completed and approved.
- Fire exits – All fire exits must be kept clear and the doors unlocked and unbolted during any event.
- Please see the booking request form for details of charges. If your booking is outside opening hours and the contact name is not a member of staff of the University of Aberdeen we will arrange for a porter to be present and you will be charged accordingly. If you do not have a porter present the person who made the booking will be responsible for the security and integrity of the Chapel.
- If the Chapel is misused one written warning will be issued. If improvement is not forthcoming the group will lose the opportunity and privilege to book the Chapel. Any damage caused will be charged to the event organiser.
- If your booking is outside office hours the toilets in King’s College Conference Centre will be made available.

Fees associated with booking the chapel are:
- External: £150.00 per session and £375 for all 3 sessions
- Internal: £50 per session
- Charity: Please enquire about discount rates for charities
- Memorial or Funeral: £100.00
- Baptism or Renewal of Wedding Vows: £100.00
- Students' Union Society: No Charge
- Porter Staff Fee: Please enquire about current rates for out of office bookings
