Prize-winning essay published
Gioia Barnbrook won the Animals and Society ASI-WAS Undergraduate Paper Prize in Human-Animal Studies in 2013 for her essay completed while she was an undergraduate student in the Department of Anthropology. PhD student wins essay prize
Congratulations to Anthropology PhD student Anna Kuprian, who has been awarded the Magnus Magnusson essay prize by the Scottish Society for Northern Studies. Anna's essay is entitled ''Negotiating contested landscapes: the lupin controversy in Iceland' and will be published in the journal Northern Studies in late 2017.

Congrats to the 2016 Graduates!
The 2016 class of Anthropology students graduated on Thursday 16 July. A bumper crop of nearly 50 single and joint honours students took part in the ceremony at King's College, along with their guests and members of staff from the Department.

Film-maker receives major award
Anthropology PhD student and film-maker Christine Moderbacher has received a major award from the Austrian Film Commission and national television in Austria to make a feature length cinema documentary.
