One of Walter Scott's greatest strengths was writing about the enivronement. He intertwined the natural environment, history and legends, and the plots of his poems and novels. This lesson will help pupils learn how to write about place, use different senses in their descriptions, read a descriptive yet action-filled passage by Scott, learn unfamiliar vocabulary, and use Scott's description as an inspiration for a writing piece of their own. The full lesson plan, including all the activities and resources are available as a pdf document.
