Keith Norman MacDonald gives the Reel of Tulloch at the top of the page. It can then be clearly seen that 'Ruidhle Thullachain' and 'The Same as a Reel' are variations on it. 'The Same as a Reel' has been arranged with bagpipe 'cuttings' or grace notes.

Scott Skinner's jig, Kiloh was dedicated to Kiloh himself, a pupil of Rose Wood, Banff and intended for publication in the Cairngorm series.
Skinner has copied this quickly on a scrap of paper. Note how he has sketched in a possible simple accompaniment using letter names rather than a separate stave. |

Bonnie Glenfarg |
Skinner's slow melody, Bonnie Glenfarg, is written out for Rose Wood of Banff's pupil, Kiloh. At the bottom, Skinner has written: 'Will make a pretty Skirt Dance. Slow, play languidly.' He has also directed that the bass should be 'calm' and 'still'. Compare it with a printed version at JSS0664. |
