Invasive yellowjacket wasps in Chile
In Chile, our work on invasive wasps focusses on understanding the local distribution and habitat preferences of yellowjacket wasp (Vespula germanica) colonies around the Rio Cruces basin, Los Rios district, Chile, and the effect of management interventions on their populations.
We are also studying the impacts that yellowjacket wasps cause in local livelihoods and evaluating management strategies through community engagement.
