A leading physicist from the University of Aberdeen has presented at an international conference on wireless technology which took place in Sweden last week.
Dr Murilo Baptista was among a number of leading experts invited to showcase their research at the 2017 European Future of Wireless Technology Workshop, in Stockholm.
The event, which was hosted by information and communications technology giant Huawei, focused on upcoming trends and new and future technologies that might enable efficient wireless solutions for people and communities, such as the next generation G5 technology.
Dr Baptista gave an overview of his research into wireless communication systems based on chaotic signals, with a focus on improving efficiency and speed in underwater wireless communication.
“For me the event was an opportunity to network with both industrial and academics in Europe and China, and to understand new ways to apply chaos to current challenges in wireless communication,” he said.
“The main challenges of wireless communication were presented, which covered developments to promote network expansion and technologies to improve receptions and transmission capabilities of antennas.
“Overall the event was a great opportunity to showcase the research that Professor Celso Grebogi and I are carrying out here at the Institute for Complex Systems and Mathematical Biology, while learning about developments taking place elsewhere in terms of developing this important technology.”
