Wearable devices, such as wearable activity trackers (WATs), are increasing in popularity. Although they can help improve a person's quality of life, they also raise serious privacy issues. In this seminar, Dr. Noé Zufferey will present you his research about:
- what are the understanding and behavior of WAT users towards data sharing, especially with third-party apps.
- how such data can be used to infer users' personal attributes
- what type of privacy enhancing technologies can be proposed to mitigate the threats
