Lecturer in Energy Transition, Engineering

The School recognises that electrical power systems will play a pivotal role in the energy transition, driven by governmental goals towards phasing out of fossil fuels, sustainability and electrification across industries. The national use of electrical energy is projected to increase threefold, and the Scottish Government awarded 27GW of new offshore wind projects in the 2022 Scotwind round. All aspects of electrical power networks are undergoing fundamental change, supported by rapid advances in power electronics, and requiring expert support by skilled researchers and engineers.
