Business Development Executive - Health & Life Sciences, Research & Innovation (RAI133AX)
The University of Aberdeen is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and target driven Business Development Executive to join the team in Research & Innovation to lead on industry engagement and Business development for Health & Life Sciences and to meet the University’s ambitious targets for enterprise and innovation. The Business Development Executive will lead on the growth and expansion of partnerships with industry and other key stakeholders, working closely with academic schools to identify, initiate and drive forward a range of commercial opportunities within the Health & Life Sciences sector (including digital health). The post holder will be responsible for meeting a range of ambitious Key Performance Indicators within the University’s Strategic Plan 2040, including contract research, consultancy and developing strategic industry partnerships.
Job Description
You will have a good first degree in a relevant STEM subject, with strong commercial and technical expertise (preferably in an R&D setting), ideally with a postgraduate qualification or Chartered membership of a relevant professional body. You will have a track record of meeting or exceeding business development or sales targets, demonstrating the ability to manage resources, workloads and changing priorities.
Well organised, astute and highly motivated, we are looking for a driven individual to work both independently on your own initiative, and effectively as part of the newly created externally facing Enterprise & Innovation Team within the Directorate of Research & Innovation. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of project management, and in-depth industry sector knowledge and networks.
You will be able to build and nurture effective relationships with academic researchers, investors, industry and other stakeholders, enhancing your own professional network.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £46,485 - £55,295 with placement according to qualifications and experience.
