Janine Thoulass, a Clinical Lecturer with the Chronic Disease Research Group, was presented with an award for best poster and presentation in the Cardiovascular and Neurology group at the recent Endowment Grants Research Symposium at the University of Aberdeen. The symposium is an opportunity to present research that has been funded through endowment grants.
Janine presented findings from a research project titled “Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy and Adult Offspring Cardiometabolic Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis”. This review summarised the evidence for an association between exposure to maternal hypertensive disorders in utero and increased risk of cardiovascular risk factors and disease in offspring adulthood.
