The Institute of Applied Health Sciences is committed to promoting equality and diversity within an inclusive working and learning environment. This is key to all we do.
The Institute has an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee that has responsibility for overseeing the implementation of Institute, School and University equality, diversity & inclusion-related policies, including the development of Institute policies and practices to ensure the study and work environment for all students and staff is inclusive, tolerant and accessible. We work together with other groups in the University, and especially the School Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee to ensure that policy becomes practice.
The Institute holds a Bronze Athena Swan Award and progress on its implementation plan can be seen here Athena Swan action plan. The School has just been awarded a Bronze Athena Swan award (Jan 2024) and we will now work towards identifying common areas of priority across the School whilst been aware of Institute specific areas of focus.
The Institute lead for equality, diversity and inclusion is Professor Amanda Lee. Please feel free to contact Amanda about any issue within the Institute linked to equality, diversity and inclusion.
