About Grampian Research Office
GRO is the Grampian Research Office; a partnership between NHS-Grampian and University of Aberdeen to support clinical research activities undertaken by staff of either organisation. Key research management staff from both organisations work closely together to provide a one-stop-shop for streamlined access to advice, training, support and resources to support the design and delivery of high quality clinical research focussed on improving patient and public health.
GRO staff are employed by NHS-Grampian, University of Aberdeen or NHS Research Scotland (NRS). Their expertise includes Research funding and contracts, Research Governance, Quality Assurance, Monitoring, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Inspection, Training (to both Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Research Practice), Research Nurse Support, Clinical Research Facilities, R&D Management Permissions, Research Ethics and Research Passports.
GRO supports research projects ranging from student studies to regulated Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products and Medical Device Clinical Investigations. These studies may be undertaken by NHS-Grampian, University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, or large commercial organisations.
