The Elphinstone Institute has published numerous volumes since its inception, all of which are unique, peer-reviewed contributions to the fields of Ethnology, Folklore, or Ethnomusicology. Further, the Institute has helped bring about several other publications through partnerships with university and commercial presses, and through in-kind work such as editing, revising, and proofing.
Through the Occasional Series, the NAFCo Series, the Charles Murray Publications, and its numerous associated publications, the Institute has been at the forefront of British scholarly output on vernacular culture.
The Institute has also produced important recordings of Traveller tradition bearers from the North-East, namely Elizabeth Stewart and the late Stanley Robertson.
