Dr Frances Wilkins, lecturer in Ethnomusicology at the Elphinstone Institute, will be giving a talk on her fieldwork with the James Bay Cree in Canada.
Dr Wilkins has been conducting research into the Cree fiddle tradition and its links to the traditional music of the Orkney Islands since 2011. This has involved regular fieldwork visits over the last two years including two months' fieldwork in the James Bay region between October and December 2011.
