The winner of the Toulmin Prize 2016 is Mary Leith from Kintore, with her story Duck Number 38. Mary received her award at the May Festival, at a special event, 'The Toulmin Celebration and Short Story Prize on Sunday 29 May, where her entry was read aloud to the audience by writer and story-teller Sheena Blackhall. Mary, a teacher by profession, originally hales from the Borders, and has lived in the North-east for many years. Mary is delighted to have won, after having submitted entries to the competition in the past. The winning entry will be printed in the July-August issue of Leopard Magazine.
