Stone; traditionally said to be the stone into which the gibbet-tree was inserted. It has been moved from the S wall of the road to the N side of the road, and set in concrete, in 1962 by the Deeside Field Club. A metal plaque states -This Gallows Stone was originally placed on the adjacent Gallows Hillock where justice was administered by the Barons of Barony until deprived of their feudal powers in 1747-. The stone is not a mill-stone, and is probably a socket-stone of some sort. Central hole is 12cm in diameter.
