Granite memorial commemorating The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria's 60th year of her 64 year reign (1837-1897) and erected by Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, Laird of Glentanar and who died in 1900. It is a little sad how many roadside horse troughs were comissioned in the late 19th century, many out of humanitarian consideration for working draught horses, only to have a very short useful life before the disappearance of most working horses. Many examples removed as a hazard to traffic or in road widening.
