Description
An installation of, about ten, simple tattie bogles (scarecrows) constructed of old overalls, buckets etcetera on wooden frames, these were arranged symmetrically on either side of a rectangular pasture to protect barley crops in adjacent fields.
Related Information
The impact of this piece is difficult to convey in photographs relying as it did on the regular repetition of similar basic elements over a fairly large area. While it was quite significant in landscape terms in any photograph that shows the whole work the individual scarecrows appear rather small.
