("Dr" Walford Bodie, billed as "Electrical Wizard of the North," a show business personality with national reputation. Bodie, a hypnotist, ventriloquist and performer of electrical tricks in Britains music halls and theatres, had the (since demolished) public swimming pool and baths built on MacDuff High Shore. His use of "Dr" and "MD" (which he said stood for "Merry Devil" ) upset a number of doctors of the day. Bodie died in 1939.
