Description
Probably early 19th century. Four ashlar piers, inner piers with eagle finials, outer pair with acorns (according to LBR but they look more like cones to me). category c listed. piers also bear armorial decorations.

Site of manor/ mansion. The old house is late17th/early 18thC of plain construction. The new house was built at right angles to the old one in early 19thC with a SW facing front. It is two-storey and basement; 3-window droved ashlar and a curved and arched stair leading to a Roman doric columned and pedimented doorpiece with flanking windows, pilastered Venetians. The new NW wing is early 20thC, again 2-storey and basement with a serpentine SW bow gable, tripartite at ground floor, and a single light at first. The interior is good with woodwork executed by Nathaniel Grieve. Alterations were done in 1928. To the SW is a small square early 19thC dovecot of harled rubble with a rat course and pinded roof.
