Description
A setting of three stones, older reports describe a fourth fallen stone. Variously described as standing stones or the remains of a circle. It appears to have been too small to be a Recumbent Stone Circle.
Related Information
It is known to some locals as 'The Druids'. Although it may have later been used by the Druids or at least a Pictish equivalent of such a priesthood, it could not have been built by them as they did not appear until some several thousand years later. It is much more likely that the name only dates from the period of 18th cent antiquarians when almost anything ancient that was not attributed to the Romans got a Druidic tag.
