The inaugural meeting of NorthCOPE was held on Wednesday 5th April in Aberdeen. This was well attended by trainers and educators. Kim Walker and Florin Nedelea (faculty development team) opened the session giving a background to the project and providing some statistics about its use. Colin Lumsden, Lead for MBChB at the University outlined its success and being at the forefront of this type of work in Scotland. Angus Cooper and Jerry Morse then led a session on the use of Simulation, the types of simulation, simulation in the curriculum which produced a lively debate. Many news ideas and suggestions were made about new resources for the site and what is needed to support trainers.
The next session will be held on Wednesday 3rd May on line at 1pm. Speakers will include Wendy Watson on the new work around clinical placements and Wendy Lowe on student support. All welcome. Further information can be found here: https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/67441
