UK Archaeological Sciences Conference 2022
The University hosted the UK Archaeological Society Conference in April 2022 attracting over 120 attendees in person with over 30 joining virtually. Although most attendees were from the UK, there were 20 other nationalities represented. The conference featured more than 100 oral and poster presentations spread over 3 days, with sponsored prizes for ECRs and students, as well as a series of formal and informal social events.
The event ran successfully as a blended event, with both oral and poster presenters as well as delegates joining virtually as well as travelling to Aberdeen. The event was originally planned for various dates in 2021, but due to uncertainty around the travel and other restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic it wasn't able to take place until 2022. The hybrid approach meant that participation was inclusive - allowing those who weren't able to, or didn't want to travel to take part.
