Building Bridges: A Conference for European Confucius Institutes
This one-day conference held on Monday 16th October 2023 at the Sir Duncan Rice Library, brought together experts, and representatives from Confucius Institutes across Europe to foster collaboration, share insights and explore new opportunities. The conference commemorated the tenth anniversary of the Confucius Institute of the University of Aberdeen.
As part of the event, the University welcomed a senior delegation from its partner, Wuhan University, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Confucius Institute.
Professor Zhao Xuemei, Vice Chair of Wuhan University Council was accompanied by a delegation of six senior staff and they were met by Professor Alan Speight, Vice Principal Global Engagement.
While in Aberdeen, the group renewed a student exchange agreement and met with colleagues from across the University
Guests were provided with an official welcome from Aberdeen City Council at the Civic Welcome Reception hosted at the iconic Aberdeen Town House, followed by the evening celebration dinner at Aberdeen Art Gallery.
