£5000 UG scholarship and £8000 masters scholarship

The University of Aberdeen has introduced £5000 scholarships for self-funded undergraduate students from countries in South Asia for all subjects except Medicine (MBChB) for entry in Sep 24.  We also offer £8000 scholarships for self-funded masters students up to and including Jan 25 intake.

The undergraduate scholarship will apply for every year of the programme and will be awarded as a tuition fee discount. 

Self funded students for either scholarship will automatically be eligible for the scholarship and will not have to submit a separate application to apply for it.

Aberdeen Global Scholarship - Undergraduate (For Academic Year 2025/26)

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer self-funded international on-campus undergraduate students a £6,000 scholarship for every year of their programme.


International Undergraduate Family Member Discount

A 10% discount is available to family members of staff, alumni and current students, who are liable for international fees and commencing undergraduate studies in 2024. The application for this discount will be made post registration.

Aberdeen Alumni Discount

20% discount is available for University of Aberdeen graduates on the full cost of a taught graduate programme and one year of a full-time research programme (two years for part time). Applies to a number of taught postgraduate programmes or first year of a full time research programme.


Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES) Bursaries

AFES offers bursaries to MSc students and partial PhD funding to support education in the areas of petrophysics and formation evaluation.


Aberdeen Global Scholarship - Postgraduate (For Academic Year 2025/26)

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer self-funded international on campus postgraduate Masters students a £8,000 tuition fee waiver.


CB Davidson Fund

The CB Davidson fund provides limited financial support for Postgraduate students within the School of Law.


University of Aberdeen staff discount for online short courses

The University of Aberdeen is pleased to offer a 10% discount on the full cost of an online short course for University of Aberdeen staff.

Aberdeen Global Scholarship (AFG, BGD, BTN, IND, MDV, NPL, PAK, LKA)

This £8,000 scholarship towards your tuition fee is available to eligible self-funded post graduate taught (PGT) students who are classed as international fee status and domiciled in one of the following countries: Afghanistan; Bangladesh; Bhutan; India; Maldives; Nepal; Pakistan; Sri Lanka.


Commonwealth Shared Scholarship 2025

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

NHS Staff Discount

The University of Aberdeen NHS discount is a 10% discount offered to all NHS staff. It applies to:

  • postgraduate degrees and short courses offered by our School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (online and on-campus)
  • postgraduate degrees and short courses offered by our School of Psychology (online and on-campus)
  • our online ILM leadership short courses

MSc Sustainability Transitions is one of the programmes approved by the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) who offers funding opportunities for students interested in the sustainability of Scottish aquaculture.

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is the UK's principal funder of basic and strategic biological research.


AHRC - Research Council Awards

The University of Aberdeen is part of a consortium of ten Higher Education institutions which has been awarded funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to support postgraduate doctoral studentships and training in the Arts and Humanities in Scotland
