China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship

Summary

The CSC Scholarship is a scholarship programme for Chinese PhD students, who will take a full PhD at the University of Aberdeen.

Description

The CSC Scholarship is open to Chinese nationals wishing to study for a full-time PhD in any discipline at the University of Aberdeen. Applicants apply to the CSC for a monthly stipend as well as international airfares. The University may provide successful applicants with a tuition waiver scholarship.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application. 
  • Applicants for a full PhD programme must have a Master’s degree and must be under the age of 35. 
  • The relevant academic entry requirements must be fulfilled, including a high level of English language proficiency and a Master's degree. 
  • Applicants must hold an offer of acceptance from the University of Aberdeen
  • Applicants should satisfy the CSC selection criteria by completing the CSC Application Form and the CSC Employer Reference Form. 
  • CSC scholars must return to China upon completion of their research.

Undergraduate

Aberdeen Global Scholarship - Undergraduate (For Academic Year 2025/26)

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer self-funded international on-campus undergraduate students a £6,000 scholarship for every year of their programme.


Aberdeen Global Scholarship (Undergraduate / PGDE)


International Undergraduate Family Member Discount

A 10% discount is available to family members of staff, alumni and current students, who are liable for international fees and commencing undergraduate studies in 2024. The application for this discount will be made post registration.


Postgraduate Taught

Aberdeen Alumni Discount

20% discount is available for University of Aberdeen graduates on the full cost of a taught graduate programme and one year of a full-time research programme (two years for part time). Applies to a number of taught postgraduate programmes or first year of a full time research programme.


Aberdeen Formation Evaluation Society (AFES) Bursaries

AFES offers bursaries to MSc students and partial PhD funding to support education in the areas of petrophysics and formation evaluation.


Aberdeen Global Scholarship - Postgraduate (For Academic Year 2025/26)

The University of Aberdeen is delighted to offer self-funded international on campus postgraduate Masters students a £8,000 tuition fee waiver.


CB Davidson Fund

The CB Davidson fund provides limited financial support for Postgraduate students within the School of Law.


Aberdeen Global Scholarship (CHN)

This £3,500 scholarship towards your tuition fee is available to eligible self-funded post graduate taught (PGT) students who are classed as international fee status and domiciled in the People's Republic of China.


NHS Staff Discount

The University of Aberdeen NHS discount is a 10% discount offered to all NHS staff. It applies to:

  • postgraduate degrees and short courses offered by our School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (online and on-campus)
