Access to Teaching Spaces for Recording

Access to Teaching Spaces for Recording

We have prepared three rooms on campus to help staff prepare teaching for blended learning.

These will allow staff to access recording equipment and visualisers, and will also offer staff who have limited broadband connectivity at home an alternative space for the preparation of teaching materials.

Which rooms are available?

Initially two rooms (Meston 009 and 011) are being opened up on the Old Aberdeen campus and one room (0:054 in Polwarth) on the Foresterhill campus. These rooms have had to be located in buildings already open for research due to not all the campus as yet being open again. If there is further demand for space, consideration will be given to opening up additional spaces within the constraints of building access restrictions.

What is provided in the rooms?

The room audio visual facilities include a networked PC, camera/microphone visualiser and  will permit Panopto style video recordings

How do I book?

To make the process as simple and safe as possible, anyone wishing to make use of one if these spaces must follow the following steps:

  1. Have a conversation with your academic line manager about accessing campus. Guidance has been prepared for this conversation for Managers and may require the completion of a risk assessment process for staff with concerns about their engagement on campus.
  2. Complete the 'Returning to on Campus: Working Safely' (entitled Return to campus e-learning, listed under My courses) online training resource about what to expect and consider when you return to campus.
  3. Book your slot for one of the available rooms through Outlook.
    • Through Outlook, choose your preferred room. The three rooms that have been set up are named within Outlook using the following names.
