International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia - Tuesday 17 May 2016

Celebrating the diversity of the University community and embedding equality throughout the organisation is a key priority for the University. This of course means ensuring equality for our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender staff and students. The University is a Stonewall Diversity Champion, we have a staff LGBT Network as well as active student forums and we have improved our Workplace Equality Index score year-on-year.

Sadly external research indicates that individuals from the LGBT community continue to face discrimination and prejudice in the UK.  If you would like to join the University in celebrating and progressing LGBT equality, please sign the Stonewall “No Bystanders” pledge here to show your commitment to challenging homophobia and transphobia.

For further information please visit Stonewall’s website.

If you would like to discuss LGBT equality at the University please contact Janine Chalmers, Equality and Diversity Adviser or Ian Robotham, Staff LGBT Network Chair.
