MyCurriculum, the new online course selection system, is on track for delivery. MyCurriculum provides students with a user-friendly way to choose their courses, taking into account any pre-requisites required and the teaching timetable.
Two-weeks of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with students and staff resulted in very positive feedback; the average rating given by students was 7.6 out of 10, with 10 being “it’s great”.
The 2016 curriculum build is now well underway; the Project Team will be in touch shortly with Schools to arrange quality checks on the programme builds as well as review any outstanding queries on course requisites. These checks are absolutely critical to the success of MyCurriculum and we are very grateful for the ongoing support from Schools in this work.
Final development work on MyTimetable is underway, with delivery and training for Schools anticipated for June. Once course choices have been made, all students (except Medics and Dentists) will use MyTimetable to select their tutorials, labs and practicals and then download a personalised timetable.
We have begun promoting MyCurriculum to current students with a trailer video now showing on all University plasma screens and a “pop-up” notice on MyAberdeen. The MyCurriculum webpage is also showing the full video, and instruction guides and demonstration videos will be added shortly. Throughout the summer, the new student E-zines will provide basic information and direct new students to the MyCurriculum webpages for further details.
