This week sees the launch of the European Researchers' Night events programme, called Explorathon, which will take place in Aberdeen on 26 September.
This will be an extravaganza of discovery, debate and entertainment with a mix of famous and familiar faces. Highlights on the night include a lecture with Professor Anne Glover and the return of the ever popular Bright Club Aberdeen where academic researchers try their hand at stand-up comedy.
European Researchers' Night is a European Commission initiative and over 300 cities across Europe will be participating on the same night. You can keep up to date with the fun and competitions will be launched next week on Facebook and Twitter. Most events are free, some do require booking.
