The May Festival takes place this year from 9 – 11 May, and will feature themes, including word, health and wellbeing, music, film, science, Gaelic events and an aptly-named Discover strand showcasing the topical research-led projects the University is currently undertaking.

Big names include Charlatans’ frontman Tim Burgess talking about his new autobiography Telling Stories, foreign correspondent  and author Kate Adie, and Tony Parsons, journalist, TV regular and best-selling author  reading from his latest bestselling novel The Murder Bag.   Other events include a lesson in baking with British Bake-off finalist James Morton, aninspiring discussion of life as a paralympian with Neil Fachie, music from Mary Ann Kennedy and the Festival finale concert with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

In addition to the main Festival, the University will host a selection of events for children and families to enjoy over the weekend. Look out for the a fun-filled magic show with Mick Magic, join the Reading Bus to hear a magical fairy tale or two, or cosy-up with toasted marshmallows at the Cruickshank campfire!

The May Festival is supported by a large number of Festival partners from many sectors. The principal sponsor is global petroleum and chemicals enterprise Saudi Aramco with additional support from Talisman Sinopec Energy UK, while Marathon Oil is the sponsor of the School’s and Children’s Festival.
