Transition to new IT system MyCareerHub

Transition to new IT system MyCareerHub

We are excited to inform you about some upcoming changes to our Careers and Employability Service this summer. Ensuring you are up-to-date with the changes is an important piece of the puzzle to make sure students can be informed about how to access our services. Also, for any staff members that use our system for careers support or to support students, these changes will be applicable too.

Currently, students use our IT system, CareerConnect to book appointments, sign up to events and browse vacancies. However, we will be moving to a new and improved system, MyCareerHub, starting in August. MyCareerHub will offer the same functionalities as CareerConnect but should offer an improved user experience.

To login to MyCareerHub, students will need their student username and password.

As we make this transition, we ask for your patience and understanding as our team works to ensure MyCareerHub is fully functional and accessible for all our students’ career needs. Between the 29th of July and the 9th of August, there may be a reduction in services and students’ ability to access live vacancies, but we are working hard to minimise any disruptions.

To prepare for this transition, we are encouraging students to login to CareerConnect before the 29th of July to review their profile and save any important information, such as, MySkills reports, saved vacancies, virtual adviser responses and pathway details. Any staff members that are users of the system, should consider doing the same.

Alongside these updates to our system, we are making some changes to our appointment offering. From August, we will be offering a drop-in service, as well as changes to our careers information and guidance appointments. These changes aim to make it easier for students to get the right support and information when they need it.

To stay up-to-date with the various changes, we suggest following us on Facebook (@AbdnUniCareers) or LinkedIn (University of Aberdeen Careers and Employability Service) or visiting our website. Any questions or concerns about the changes can be directed to careers@abdn.ac.uk
