Cyber Scotland Week - 26th February to 3rd March 2024

Cyber Scotland Week - 26th February to 3rd March 2024

This year’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has estimated that there were over 2 million instances of cyber fraud across all UK businesses within the last twelve months, with an additional estimated 49,000 instances of fraud as a result of cybercrime in the same period.

Cyber Scotland Week aims to foster collaboration, diversity and cyber resilience by uniting professionals and organisations under shared vision.

Meet the University’s Information Governance and Security Teams:

Members of the Information Governance and Security Teams will be hosting a pop-up stall on the ground floor of The Sir Duncan Rice Library on 27th and 28th of February, between 10am and 2pm. We welcome all staff and students to come along with any questions or concerns they may have on security or data protection.

Competition – Staff and Research Postgrads

Staff and Research Postgraduate students who have completed their Information Security and Data Protection training by the end of the CyberScotland Week will be eligible to win a prize of a £50 Amazon voucher. We will select one of you at random and contact you via your University email account. Look out for an email from the Information Security team if you are a winner.

If you have already completed both courses, thank you, and you do not need to do anything to enter. If you have not completed your courses or you want to check, please login to the Metacompliance platform, https://cloud.metacompliance.com/ to complete the Information Security and Data Protection courses and be entered into the competition automatically.
