Further to our call for the role of Dean for International Student Recruitment, I am delighted to announce that following a competitive internal application and interview recruitment process Dr Srinivas Sriramula has been appointed to the role effective from 1 November 2023.
Srinivas will have strategic responsibility for the effective implementation of initiatives to support achievement of the University’s international student recruitment ambitions and targets. He will also lead coordination of our engagement across a network of international stakeholders who advise, support or sponsor international students, including recruitment agents and counsellors, international schools and international government funding bodies.
Srinivas is a Reader in the School of Engineering where his research broadly focusses on the development of risk and reliability modelling approaches for infrastructure systems. An Enterprise and Innovation Champion, he has a strong focus on mentoring and an established track record in industry collaboration, having won both ‘Excellence in Teaching’ and ‘Success in Engagement with Industry’ awards.
Srinivas has wide-ranging experience in recruiting international students through various roles within the University, including of international student recruitment events, interaction with student recruitment referral agencies, international partnership activity supporting student recruitment channels, and the use of market intelligence to diversify and extend the University’s international student recruitment reach.
