Information on new mandatory training for staff
Dear colleagues,
The new Information Security and Data Protection training courses will be launched on 25 September 2023, and you will receive an email asking you to complete both of these mandatory courses. I urge you to take some time to complete them as they are a vital part of our defence against cyber-attacks and data breaches.
Cyber criminals are constantly developing new tactics and technologies to disrupt our digital services and access our information. Therefore, it is important that you complete your information security and data protection training annually to ensure you are aware of the current threats.
Our information security and governance teams work hard to protect us, but I want to emphasise that everyone has a role in protecting the University from reputational or financial impact, and in protecting personal information and data.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete both the Information Security and Data Protection Training courses - you are playing an important part in the safeguarding of the University.
The priority attached to this is also reflected in a request for regular updates on compliance statistics by Court’s Audit and Risk Committee.
