Information about building closures at Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill campuses
Dear colleague,
We’re contacting you to advise of the immediate closure of the following areas on campus, due to potential issues around building safety that have come to light during recent structural inspections.
- Regent Building - Old Aberdeen
- West Block, Polwarth Building - Foresterhill
These areas have been closed as a precautionary measure to allow for further inspections to take place by University Estates staff and specialist structural engineers.
In the meantime, students and staff should not attempt to enter either building. If this is your regular place of work, you will be notified of alternative arrangements as soon as possible. Any scheduled teaching or events due to take place there are in the process of being rescheduled to other locations.
You will be notified of alternative arrangements as soon as possible, either through your School or other relevant contact.
If you have any belongings in either building that you wish to retrieve, then please contact estates@abdn.ac.uk to make the necessary arrangements.
A further update will follow once more details are known of the extent of the issues affecting each building.
