New occupational health provider

Update on the new occupational health provider

Dear colleagues,

Following a procurement exercise, with effect from 1 May 2023, OHWorks will take over responsibility for providing occupational health services for all staff and postgraduate research students at the University of Aberdeen.

OHWorks is one of the leading providers of occupational health services in the UK and has earned a reputation for delivering high quality, evidence-based advice and support for staff and students.

Their multi-disciplinary team will be working with the University to deliver a proactive approach to protect staff well-being, ensuring that individuals receive the most appropriate support and advice at the right time from the relevant clinical specialist.

To allow OHWorks to provide you with appropriate, timely and professional advice and support, all copies of personal occupational health records held by International SOS Occupational Health Service will be transferring to OHWorks. This will include records of current staff and students who are not currently being supported by occupational health but who have previously accessed the services provided.

This transfer will follow current best practice and be fully compliant with all relevant legislation regarding data protection, confidentiality and access to confidential health records. No access will be granted to these records by OHWorks should you withhold your consent. The University of Aberdeen does not have access to these records.

If you have any queries regarding this transfer of your occupational health records or should you wish to withhold consent for your records to transfer please email Heather Clark, HR Partner at h.m.clark@abdn.ac.uk by 24 May 2023.
