New Dean for Enterprise and Innovation appointed

New Dean for Enterprise and Innovation appointed

Dear colleagues,

Further to earlier calls inviting applications for the role of Dean for Enterprise and Innovation, I am delighted to announce that, following a competitive internal recruitment process, Dr Heather May Morgan has been appointed to the role effective from 1 April 2023.

Heather will take forward key institutional priorities including increased engagement with businesses and other organisations, for commercial and societal impact, and enhancement of entrepreneurial culture and promotion of start-up and spin-out activities.

Heather is currently a lecturer in the Institute of Applied Health Sciences, School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, with interests in digital health. She is a four-time Principal’s Prizes for Public Engagement with Research winner in recognition of her science communication activities. Heather has direct experience of knowledge exchange and commercialisation activity and has supported several students through start-up launches.

I am very much looking forward to working with Heather in her Dean role, and I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on this appointment.

Best wishes,

Pete
