Unigrams is back!

Unigrams is back!

Are you ready to pit your wits against the latest fiendish Staff News competition and be in with the chance of winning an amazing prize?

We’ve teamed up with Adventure Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, one of Sport Aberdeen’s venues, to bring you the chance to put your puzzling skills to the test and win a private snowboarding session for two people!

Adventure Aberdeen Snowsports Centre is the perfect place to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time or to improve upon your skills.

Located in Garthdee, the snowsports centre boasts the only dry ski slope in Aberdeen. It offers skiing and snowboarding lessons and coaching for all ages and abilities, as well as open public sessions to practice your skills and have fun with friends and family.

All of its snowboarding and skiing lessons and coaching sessions are delivered by qualified and accredited instructors in line with the British Association of Snowsport Instructors (BASI) and Snowsport Scotland learning pathways. It is also a recognised Snowsport Scotland Training Centre.

They will provide all the equipment needed and an instructor with infectious enthusiasm for the sport to help you learn in a safe and enjoyable environment.

How to play

Find the 12 special letters sprinkled throughout Staff News, unscramble them and work out the University-related word. The letters will only be in either the title or body of an article in the ezine itself (not on any pictures, graphics or linked webpages) – but you’re clever and we’re sneaky, so take care, some of those letters might be red herrings!

The game letters look like This - or if you're using a screen reader, they'll be spoken slightly differently.

Each Unigram will be at least seven letters in length, leaving anything from zero to five additional letters in the mix to confound you. Words that have been used in previous competitions include Chancellor, Sacrist, Elphinstone and Marischal.

But if you don’t find the first Unigram, don’t worry – there’s two chances to submit an entry into the prize draw. We’re hiding a different Unigram in the issues of Staff News published on March 2 and March 9. If you crack them you can enter both weeks and increase the odds of having your name drawn at the end, or just once – it’s up to you.

See Terms & Conditions below for full details.

Once you have your answer, email it along with your name, job title and department/School to communications@abdn.ac.uk. Please include the subject title 'Unigrams’ on your email.

Good luck!
