Further to our recent communication inviting applications for the role of Dean of Environmental Sustainability, I am delighted to announce that, following a competitive internal recruitment process, Professor Tavis Potts has been appointed to the role with effect from 1 July 2022.
In this new role Tavis will ensure a high profile for the sustainability agenda across the University and with external partners, catalysing the mobilisation of the collective energy of the University community to foster a whole-university approach to sustainability.
Tavis will already be well known to many of you from his work as former Interim Director of the Centre for Energy Transition, and has considerable experience of working effectively across the University which he will bring to this role. I look forward to working more closely with him in his new role as Dean and I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Tavis on his appointment.
