The Confucius Institute offers regular free lunchtime Mandarin classes for all staff members. These take place in our two campus locations, Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill. Classes are taught as two hours per week split over two one-hour lunchtime sessions. New beginners classes will start the week commencing 21st January.
Old Aberdeen (Confucius Institute)
Tuesday and Thursday, 12 noon – 1pm
Foresterhill (MacGillivray Centre)
Monday and Thursday, 1-2pm
For those who have studied Mandarin before, we also run other staff classes at different levels, please contact us for more details.
Classes are free of charge for all staff members and are open to staff from all disciplines and departments, including non-academic staff members. If you are interested then please register your place by emailing confucius@abdn.ac.uk stating which class you would like to join. If you are interested in learning Mandarin but are unable to attend these staff lunchtime classes then you can register for Mandarin evening classes running in Old Aberdeen. All University of Aberdeen staff receive 50% discount on the cost of evening classes. Registration is via the online store.
