University Chaplain elected to prestigious Chair role

University of Aberdeen Chaplain, Reverend David Hutchison, has been elected as Chair of the Conference of European University Chaplains (CEUC).

His election to the role took place during the organisation’s annual conference at University College, Dublin, which was attended by nearly 90 delegates.

Rev. Hutchison was instrumental in organising last year’s conference, which was hosted by the University of Aberdeen.

Commenting on his new role, he said: “I am delighted to be the new Chair of the Conference of European University Chaplains.

“It is a vibrant and diverse group of individuals who share a passion for supporting staff and students in various ways.

“My hope is to enable each of the Chaplains to feel more connected with one another and therefore enable us all to share the very best practices more widely.

“Chaplaincy has no perfect form; we all seek to provide the best setting for openness, honesty and growth.”
