Principles of Learning & Teaching in Higher Education Programme

Application Deadline for May/June 2018 Programme: 11th April 2018

The Centre for Academic Development is offering a five week CPD programme for teaching development aimed at Postgraduate Research Students, Early Career Researchers, new Lecturers and Teaching Fellows. The next programme will run in May 2018 on the following four Wednesday afternoons: 9, 16, 23, 30 and on Wednesday afternoon of June 6th. To participate in this programme it is expected that you are actively involved in teaching and have been for over one year, in any of the following types of activities:

  • Lecturing
  • Running tutorial sessions for undergraduate courses
  • Demonstrating and supporting lab sessions 
  • Supervising students involved in undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral projects
  • Delivering workshops for either staff or students

(It is a requirement that these examples will have been in UK higher education and taken place recently for a substantial portion of at least one academic year) 

The Programme is externally accredited by the Higher Education Academy. Successful participants with enough teaching experience should be able to achieve Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
