2-day Active Listening Skills Workshop for Staff and Sabbaticals

Every year, we offer a 2 day Effective Helping workshop for university staff and sabbaticals who are involved in helping students. 

2014

  • Dates: Monday 25 & Tuesday 26 August 2014
  • Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm (both days)
  • Venue: Meeting Room 1, (7th floor), The Sir Duncan Rice Library
  • Facilitators: Mairi Stewart & Ruth Bannister

The workshop will focus predominately on

  • active listening skills
  • ethical issues in helping relationships
  • developing self-awareness for the helper
  • responding to crisis 
  • overview of referral resources within the university and the larger community

There is an expectation that participants attend both days of this workshop.

There is a limit of 20 places and the closing date for applications is Friday 1 August 2014.
