Find out more about Grampian Credit Union, the services it provides and information on how to join.

In February 2013 the University entered into partnership with Grampian Credit Union, which is an independent savings and loans co-operative owned by its members. This agreement means that members of University staff can make regular savings and loan payments to the Credit Union through deductions taken directly from salary.

The Credit Union aims to help people living and working in Aberdeen and the Grampian area by giving them direct access to affordable and ethical financial services and has extended the services which it offers over the past year.

Examples of the financial products available currently from the Credit Union include:

  • Current account, which offers full banking facilities plus a VISA debit card. From January 2014, members will be able to access a secure website to check balances and make online payment transfers
  • Adult, Children’s and Christmas savings accounts (deposits up to £85,000 are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme)
  • Loans for members (with affordable interest rates)
  • Insurance and Family Protection Products (provided through the CUNA Mutual Group)
  • Members’ lottery
