Find out about this ground-breaking project, which seeks to provide preparation for employment to young people with disabilities.

Project SEARCH launched within the University of Aberdeen, in partnership with Aberdeen College and Inspire.

This ground-breaking project seeks to provide preparation for employment to young people with disabilities through a mix of education and work experience placements. It is based on an international model with originated in the USA and has recently transferred with great success to the UK.

Project SEARCH is a one year programme, which will be delivered on our Old Aberdeen campus. Twelve Interns will receive support to undertake 3 work placements within the University during this period, whilst studying to attain a vocational qualification.  Upon the conclusion of the project, the Interns will receive support to source and sustain paid employment.

The project is one of only 4 which have been licenced and funded by the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities within the Scottish Government.

Some of the Project SEARCH Interns will be available to meet with you and share with you the aims of the programme and their achievements to date on an informal basis.
