An event to highlight the latest developments in interdisciplinary research and education at the University of Aberdeen
This Open Sessions Day will provide an exciting opportunity to highlight the latest developments in interdisciplinary research and education using case studies from across the University of Aberdeen. The sessions will facilitate cross-disciplinary discussions, explore new ideas and enable informal networking, and bring together colleagues from across disciplines to develop new initiatives. Featuring flash talks, panel discussions, network introductions and poster sessions, the event will provide a unique opportunity to explore the University’s five interdisciplinary challenges. The day will be used as a platform to promote interdisciplinarity, encourage networking and collaboration among colleagues, celebrate our achievements, and shape future work.
Aberdeen 2040 - Our Interdisciplinary Challenges
Working together, we will address five interdisciplinary challenges of our time. These urgent and wide-ranging problems require complex solutions, which draw on both theoretical and applied knowledge.
- Energy Transition
- Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity
- Environment and Biodiversity
- Data and Artificial Intelligence
- Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing
We have the expertise to face these particular challenges, which speak directly to our region, our society and our century. We will engage with them collaboratively, combining ideas and approaches across our areas of excellence. As we work, we will also look ahead and identify new challenges for the future.
