Come and find out how you can reduce your carbon footprint at the University.
The Energy Management Team is offering an energy workshop in June for staff who want to help reduce our carbon footprint.
This lunchtime workshop combines team games and presentations to explain the University’s energy use, examples of typical energy inefficiencies and how staff can help reduce energy demand.
As a whole the University consumed over 104,087MWh of electricity, natural gas, steam, LPG, and gas oil in 2016/17. That is the same amount of energy as 23,131 typical UK households would consume in a year, or 1/4 of Aberdeen City!
We’ve set ambitious targets to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions from energy by 20% by 2021. In 2016/17, we made fantastic progress towards this but we can still do more and we need your help! Small actions and good housekeeping can make big differences!
At the end of the session, attendees will be given a goody bag containing energy awareness posters, an energy efficiency leaflet, an energy walk-around checklist, and an LED bulb for a desk lamp!
